[ The feed opens up to the Gear bouncing along the ground. It slides to a stop, but from off the screen are the telltale sounds of a rambunctious Pokemon about, as well as a frustrated Saber sighing. Not long after, two Pokemon trod along the feed: ]

[ The Axew tilts his head and rubs as his tusks while the Deino chomps on air. Suddenly, there's a sound of clothing being ripped and a brief roar of flame soon follows. ]

You will learn discipline, bug- [ Saber's voice is nothing short of threatening, and there's a hint of steel laced in her tone. ] -or I shall have Aestus burn you to cinders. You will either appreciate the color red, or perish. Your original trainer would have learned that much.

[ There's a hiss that could only come from a defiant, wild Scyther. After a moment, her footfalls can be heard coming closer and Saber picks up the Gear to address the open feed with an expression that is just brimming with frustration and anger. There's a clear cut on her cheek that drips red and darkens her slightly tattered uniform an even deeper shade as it drops, which might add to her growing ire. That said, she gathers herself with a deep breath, and in the background can be seen a Charizard giving a LVL5 Death Glare to a hissing and spitting Scyther that's held against a corner of the room. ]

Apologies for the interruption. It appears that, upon the dawn of a new year, I have been blessed with a gathering of new Pokemon. [ Pause. ] But be cursed with the disappearance of a companion. I believe that is a sign for me to move on and complete my badge collection. I hear this Clair is the last of Johto's list of Gym Leaders. Does she prove as much of a challenge as her title would suggest? So far, I have been filled with nothing but boredom and disappointment with the ones I have opposed.

[ And then Saber promptly cuts the feed. Those within the Breeding Center lodgings might hear more thumps and bumps going along as Saber tries to restrain Archer's unruly Scyther. If not that, she'd be busy packing a few things before hopping on her Charizard and flying off. ]

Seems like a rather nasty 'prank'. You're fortunate that it didn't manage to do worse than just a cut.

[[Honestly, this entire situation is giving her flashbacks to another violent so-called piece of 'entertainment' - she still hasn't forgotten the Wheel of Misfortune, and likely won't any time soon.

You're right, however; I feared for my life the first time I met my Kangaskhan. Really, we're completely vulnerable if the Pokemon choose to turn on us.

[[A sobering thought.]]

And yet they do not. This world advocates harmony and cooperation between humans and Pokemon. They are found within the wild, yet they easily slip into the role of being commanded once a ball is laid upon them. For all of that, however, I find it amusingly ironic that such peace could be easily made within this realm, yet interactions with other people can be quite different altogether.

[ In short, why are Pokemon more pleasant than their fellow human beings? Logic, maaaaan. ]

[[....man, when you put it that way....Page has to smile a little.]]

Perhaps we should be the ones taking the orders, rather than giving them. Or at least, the balance should be a bit more even.

[[Let her reach down and pick up her rather chirpy Chikorita while she says that.]]

I don't like the idea of...well, being the master of my Pokemon. I prefer to think of them as friends. What do you think?

Allies who will support my needs to the best of their abilities; my own to take care of.

[ Saber's response is immediate and carried through with a clear, imperious tone. But she means it when she calls them her allies. She smiles at Page and her Chikorita. ]

We are their trainer - we are the ones with the responsibility of raising them to be civilized instead of mere wild beasts. The relationship between us is give and take, and both give their fair share, even if it may not seem like so at first.

[[Page listens quietly as Saber speaks, nodding slightly; that's a good way of putting it. It's taken a lot for her to even admit that she considers her Pokemon friends rather than soldiers, allies rather than just like those she commands at home. But aren't they her allies too?

....Johto has been giving her a lot of Feelings, put it that way.]]

That's a...really nice way of putting it, really. It's a complicated relationship, but it works.

[[Raising an eyebrow, Page indicates that Scyther in the background.]]

Looks like you've got a bit of a project on your hands with that one, anyway.

So you would think, but I have already fostered him off to another more suitable in handling him. That Scyther would be grateful that I did not have any of my Pokemon crush him to pieces for his transgression.

[ Saber also gives an annoyed glance the Scyther's way, who is still being held to a corner by her Charizard. ]

[[Yikes, that's a bit of an overreaction, but Page won't comment on it. Saber is probably still enraged about the injury; she wouldn't be too happy herself.]]

What sort of Pokemon do you train, anyway? They must be rather powerful.

[[Probably more powerful than her derp of a Chikorita, anyway.]]

I train a variety to keep my options wide and open for any situation. [ Stated matter-of-factly, but also with a hint of pride. ]

My current party consists of a Scizor, Charizard, Gyarados, Garchomp, Rhyperior, and a Metagross; however, I do switch out half of them to train the newer ones that come into my fold.
