[ The feed opens up to the Gear bouncing along the ground. It slides to a stop, but from off the screen are the telltale sounds of a rambunctious Pokemon about, as well as a frustrated Saber sighing. Not long after, two Pokemon trod along the feed: ]

[ The Axew tilts his head and rubs as his tusks while the Deino chomps on air. Suddenly, there's a sound of clothing being ripped and a brief roar of flame soon follows. ]

You will learn discipline, bug- [ Saber's voice is nothing short of threatening, and there's a hint of steel laced in her tone. ] -or I shall have Aestus burn you to cinders. You will either appreciate the color red, or perish. Your original trainer would have learned that much.

[ There's a hiss that could only come from a defiant, wild Scyther. After a moment, her footfalls can be heard coming closer and Saber picks up the Gear to address the open feed with an expression that is just brimming with frustration and anger. There's a clear cut on her cheek that drips red and darkens her slightly tattered uniform an even deeper shade as it drops, which might add to her growing ire. That said, she gathers herself with a deep breath, and in the background can be seen a Charizard giving a LVL5 Death Glare to a hissing and spitting Scyther that's held against a corner of the room. ]

Apologies for the interruption. It appears that, upon the dawn of a new year, I have been blessed with a gathering of new Pokemon. [ Pause. ] But be cursed with the disappearance of a companion. I believe that is a sign for me to move on and complete my badge collection. I hear this Clair is the last of Johto's list of Gym Leaders. Does she prove as much of a challenge as her title would suggest? So far, I have been filled with nothing but boredom and disappointment with the ones I have opposed.

[ And then Saber promptly cuts the feed. Those within the Breeding Center lodgings might hear more thumps and bumps going along as Saber tries to restrain Archer's unruly Scyther. If not that, she'd be busy packing a few things before hopping on her Charizard and flying off. ]

Truly you shall find none of that with me. Yet, even for all of my talents, there is only so much that I could do to make up for one's blunder. It should be of equal share from both parties involved!

I'll hope she brings her A-game, so it'll be more interesting for you too.

I shall pray for that, too. Gym leaders are expected to present a challenge, yes? I have found none of that so far. Harrumph. I believe I will challenge Kanto's ranks at their Elite Teams to gain better sport out of all of this.

I can say from experience they're pretty tough. I've still got to hit up Surge for a rematch someday.

You have lost, Ventus? What providence does he preside over?

Vermillion City in Kanto. I should've waited a bit longer, until more of my team was at higher levels, but Terra says the important thing's that I learn from it.

Sound advice. My main ensemble have been more than ready enough to take on these "elite teams." I believe even my own Pokemon are getting bored with the challenges that I have been presented with! The tournament was the only one to have given any worth of excitement.

Maybe we could use another tournament someday. It seems like a lot of people had fun.

Truly, it was entertaining! If no one else is willing to host another event like that, I shall rise up to take that mantle. I have experience hosting those sorts of events myself from my previous lifetime!

Sporting events, mostly, similar to the Greeks' Olympics. They were tests of strength, stamina, and technique! I happily participated in them, myself.

Are tournaments a part of that, and did you win a lot?

O-Of course I won them all! [ Indignant huff. Even though some of them were rigged to ensure her safety and overall victory... ]

And yes, I would allow battle tournaments to be held. My people had a fondness for various forms of entertainment, and as their emperor, I was expected to give that much and more.

Maybe I just don't have enough imagination. People don't have so many talents where I come from, you've usually got a specialty. So it's pretty amazing to me.

Well... Hrm, my talents were many, though to say they were all masterpieces... Harrumph. If there was anything I truly specialize in now, it would be the art of battle and diplomatic guile.

Diplomatic guile? I don't think I know much about that...

[ She waves a hand. ] A necessary evil in most civilizations, I would say. Politics. A subject that would matter little in this harmonious world.

I see... Worlds are pretty divided where I come from so I don't think it sees much use there either.

Is it a challenging thing?

That, and hazardous. Many find themselves in a position that would paint a target on their backs. It is a position that tempts others with power for what one is able to do in that field. You lead the lives of people with your words.

Was it ever scary?

There was some caution to be had within my station, but I would not fear the station I worked so hard in. Not even the gods themselves would make me tremble - what other mortal could inspire that feeling then?
