[ The feed clicks on to show a Pidgey staring down at the Gear, tilting his head this way and that like any curious bird would do. Then there's a screech and an Altaria's head also pops into the view, and they're tilting their heads, chirping, and the Pidgey gives a tentative peck at the Gear before the Altaria bends its long neck to pick up the Gear- ]

--What are you two doing? Zephyr, hand that to me. Avion, do not be a mischievous little fowl, or I will send you back into your ball.

[ There are two screeches before the Gear is thrown at the voice. Caught swiftly in hand, the feed then turns to face a slightly irritated Saber/Nero who shakes her hand and places the Gear in a more proper position to watch her. There's a long, wooden object resting upon her lap, with Gladius the Scyther standing obediently by her bed. Judging by the small, wooden bits scattered around her, it looks like she's further tuning the makeshift "weapon," making sure the edges were heavily blunted and not too jagged enough, but still carrying a discernible shape. There are also three eggs of various colors placed upon her bed beside her. ]

Then again... Ah, yes, I did have a query. I am aware that there are several of those who have- had powers, extraordinary abilities back in their worlds. I was no exception, and it vexes me greatly, but even as a human, I was glorious enough.

[ But enough about that tangent- ] I am curious about where it all just... goes. And how? Surely there are some powers people had that were useful and not so harmful. [ As she talks, her eyes drift down to the wooden weapon in her hands for a moment. ] And for those who have stayed here for an interminable amount of time in this world... Do you not miss it?

Do you not see it? In place of our weapons, this world gives use these creatures, more powerful and rare than even some of the beasts that I have encountered and slain in my lifetime. Were someone truly so heartless, could they not use these very same monsters to do harm, possibly more damaging than any sword or spell, upon another?

I think that's the entire point. Why would you need weapons when you've got Pokémon? Especially when battles resolve conflicts without people getting hurt?

[ She shakes her head in a sort of disappointed way. ] And if the person does not stop there? What guarantees that the loser will not be harmed by the ill-hearted victor?

And why would they have any reason to hurt someone who can't defend themselves?

Simply for the sport of it? You cannot possibly be naive as to believe that there are not those kinds of people littering every world imaginable.

How long has it been since the last time you heard report of a crime?

They're the only source of crime here. Most of the time. The crime rate is lower here than anywhere on Earth. Even Team Rocket doesn't rear their ugly heads that often.

Really rare. And even then it's almost never assault. Most of the time police reports go out for theft and skipping town while employed.
